About a product

There are two ways of using hazelnut: roasted and fresh.

It is quite possible that the homeland of the hazelnut is Greece. The ancient Greek philosopher Plinius noted that the hazelnut was brought there from Syria. In the past it was a symbol of matrimony, family happiness, abundance, health and prosperity.

The hazelnut is the source of energy for men. Kernels of the nut contain oil consisting of glycerides of oleic, stearic and palmitic acids that prevent from the increase of cholesterol in the blood, defend against vascular diseases and are indispensable for growing organisms. Vitamins containing in the hazelnut are very important components for normal functioning of the heart, muscles and human reproductive system.

Hazelnuts are fruits of the Big Hazel or the Lombard Nut that is a horticultural crop. Its wild smaller sort called the filbert grows in forests.

The stem of the tree is thin, its top is covered with dense leaves and its average height reaches five metres. Unlike other trees the hazelnut tree does not blossom in spring.

Due to its high food value the hazelnut enjoys wide popularity in food industries. It is used in the manufacture of nut pastes, cream, chocolate, liqueurs and in confectionary industries.
